Home Efficiency Rebate Plus (HER+)

The Canada Greener Homes Grant has partnered with Enbridge Gas to introduce the HomeThe 
Efficiency Rebate Plus (HER+) program, where homeowners are offered rebates towards eligible
retrofits such as home energy assessments, new windows & doors, and other high-impact
upgrades.

All homeowners in Ontario are eligible for the Home Efficiency Rebate Plus (HER+) program as long as:

• They own and reside in their home.
• They are heated by natural gas supplied by Enbridge Gas.

Enhanced Rebates up to $10,600

Offering up to $10,000 in rebates, HER+ is a great opportunity for homeowners to save energy at home.

For example, high-performance windows and doors are an excellent way to prevent condensation and eliminate drafts. HER+ eligible homeowners can qualify for up to $325 per ENERGY STAR® certified window or door, to a maximum $10,000.

But before any renovation work begins, you must complete a home energy assessment with a Registered Energy Advisor.

HER+ can also offset the cost of their EnerGuide home evaluation with an additional rebate of $600.

Who is Eligible?

• Enbridge Gas customers who own and live in their homes.
• Enbridge Gas customers who own a home but don’t live there.
• Owners of some low-rise and mixed-use properties.
• Non-Enbridge Gas customers enjoy rebates as well.
• Off-grid communities living in a permanent or long-term settlement with at least 10 dwellings.

The Canada Greener Homes Grant and HER+ in Ontario will allow eligible homeowners to access the benefits of both programs through one, streamlined, single application process.

How the HER+ Program Works

Step 1

Call and schedule an initial home energy assessment with a licensed Registered Energy Advisor. A list will be provided to you upon completion of the questionnaire / HER+ webpage.

Step 2

They’ll provide a custom report with recommended upgrades.

Step 3

Complete at least one eligible upgrade.

Step 4

Schedule a follow-up home energy assessment.

Step 5

Receive your rebate cheque, including up to $600 for the assessments.
